Ms. Drinkwell is the blog and the alter-ego of a peripatetic wine professional, who began her wine career quite by accident in 2002 when she landed a temp job as an Administrative Assistant for Robert Mondavi‘s Central Coast operation (now known as Private Selection) in San Luis Obispo, CA.  A few months later after the temp assignment ended, she took her first tasting room job at Blackjack Ranch Winery in Santa Ynez Valley.  In 2004, after a move to Washington, DC, she accepted a position as a sales associate at a boutique wine store called Best Cellars.  It was there that her wine education began in earnest through a combination of on-the-job training (working up into management and wine buying) and Wine & Spirits Education Trust courses offered through the International Wine Center.  After many years of study, she now holds the WSET Diploma.  In early 2007, Ms. Drinkwell returned to California, where she began working for Ridge Vineyards doing a combination of sales, marketing, copywriting, tasting room and event staffing duties.  In 2008, she joined the staff at Vintage Berkeley, a trio of wine shops in Berkeley, CA that focuses on offering customers high-quality, value-priced wines from around the world.
